How it came together
Problem
Generic character t-shirts don't put the child in the story, and one-off custom prints rarely look like a finished, professional design rather than a photo pasted onto a template. Star of My Story wanted a way to make each child genuinely the hero of an illustrated scene, on a t-shirt a parent would be proud to buy, without every order becoming a one-off design job.
Approach
We built a repeatable design system rather than one-off artwork: a child's photo is composited into a hand-styled illustrated scene matched to a theme (unicorns, kittens, sports cars, motorcycles, beach days), framed in a consistent glossy badge, with the child's name rendered as branded lettering underneath. Every design is built at print resolution so the detail holds up on fabric, not just on a screen.
Outcome
Star of My Story now has a growing catalogue of ready-to-print, on-brand designs across multiple themes, each one instantly recognisable as part of the same collection while still feeling personal to the specific child pictured on it.
